The shooting that occurred in the lobby (prior to the security area) of the Washington Hilton on the evening of the (WHCD) White House Correspondents’ Dinner (heavily attended by regime officials), was unsurprisingly followed up by a pitch for the White House Ballroom by POTUS along with what looks like a coordinated astroturfing campaign on social media. The ballroom has been held up in litigation by preservationists (who reaffirmed they will not be dropping those lawsuits).
Additionally, theories of this being a staged false-flag operation (another assassination attempt of the president) began to swirl around social media while the White House is being accused of promoting coordinated talking points via an alleged secret group chat, which manifested itself in a viral wave of postings by mostly right-wing influencers.

When I first saw the news about this, I just shrugged (and I wasn’t an outlier in this). When you have a government/regime that lies so transparently on a daily basis, when facts no longer matter, when the mainstream media (ones who were mostly in attendance at that dinner) have failed and enabled a lot of this, where key institutions have been compromised so greatly, and where AI is blurring the lines even further that even regular folks like myself no longer can trust anything we see/hear, you get numb to the absurdity.
I have no idea if it was staged and don’t really care either way. What was cringe though is how the security (shown by the released footage) was handled. Based on what experts said, this is not how secret service is supposed to handle situations like this. It wreaked of amateurism and at some points, did come across as dramatized. And if that part wasn’t staged, well we have big problems with the secret service and various agencies that are supposed to handle situations like this. But when you then see the above coordinated astroturfing, the instinctual reaction of this “being potentially staged” does pop up.
As a citizen, having this level of apathy should be alarming because your normal reaction should be a more defensive one where you would have concerns about the leadership and line of succession of your government. But when you have what is a kakistocracy of criminals that has captured the U.S. government (one that is highly divisive and uncaring for the average person in its rhetoric), tuning out and not giving two shits about whether or not your entire government gets taken out, becomes this self-fulfilling prophecy.
I mean, I see memes constantly of the “is he dead yet?” variety where normally, my empathetic side would kick in (but even I have none for these crooks that are in control of the U.S. government).
Ironically, this is exactly what they’ve wanted (MAGA and the FOX propagandists); to have regular people distrusting the institutions and the entire government where they’ve managed to get exactly that; this wholesale distrust applies to them now that they are in power and because they lie with ease (and can be fact checked in realtime), it is that much plausible to believe this could’ve been a false-flag ops (I just personally will not dwell on this either way).
However, if FBI director Kash Patel (who was spared as a target for unknown reasons in the shooters manifesto) is in fact fired (as being currently rumored), then lots more people will believe this was a staged operation (because it’s a “Freudian slip” by whomever would be in on this ops to not include someone who they knew was going to be removed from that line of leadership which was being targeted in that manifesto).
