It is now finally official:  You know the rule of law is DEAD in the US when you have a convicted felon as commander-in-chief (officially sworn in with what is now a perfunctory action), and he just pardoned every January 6, 2021 insurrectionist (many whose violent actions were captured in the act on live broadcasts) that was found guilty of those crimes.  They’ve been subsequently released from prison.  This is a slap in the face/betrayal to everyone who abided by the law when the rule of law actually meant something (it no longer does).

It’s also “humourous” watching what will be a complete chaotic shitshow in the US going forward.  It’s even more “funny” that the media types are still covering this normally, thinking the existing rules/laws will be magically adhered to.  Hello, a convicted felon now has the keys and has the levers of power and immunity from prosecution (and there aren’t much guardrails now).  Talk about living in complete DENIAL.  I hope these idiots realize that thing called the US Constitution will be trashed (it’s a piece of paper that requires something like the rule of law to mean something for it to be honored).

I do have my popcorn ready to see how quickly things are dismantled: how the legislative branch is rendered powerless, to see if the consolidation of power in the executive is successful, to see how quickly the purge of military leadership happens.  The judicial?  SCOTUS at the top, is long bought (everything below will just be purged over time).

Does it mean the people are powerless?  No.  The problem however is that this should have been taken care of leading well into the 2024 election.  But that whole exercise was a massive failure (people/voters, politicians, media, etc) which is why we have this situation (a convicted felon as the command-in-chief for the US).  Long story short, it is what it is and we are at the FAFO stage where everyone besides the oligarchs, will have to be subjected to whatever insanity that will roll down the hill.  This isn’t going to be fixed 4 years from now either… you have to be in utter DENIAL to believe that Federal elections will matter once they’ve dismantled the underpinnings for that too (translation: they have no intentions of ceding the power of the presidency).

Japanese have a often used phrase; 仕方がない (shikata ga nai) which translates roughly into “it cannot be helped” (in the context of nothing can be done about it).  Many who used to give a damn (like myself), are just going to tune out because there is more to life than being subjected to the media and political circus/clown show that brought us to this place.

UPDATE: States filing lawsuits challenging the executive order to end birthright citizenship… some of the statements by attorney generals…

Based on the SCOTUS decision that gives the president immunity for official acts, he can do whatever he pleases now because he is ABOVE THE RULE OF LAW.  He doesn’t need to rewrite it, he can render the Constitution null and void if he wants to.  Who the hell is going to stop him when he is ABOVE THE RULE OF LAW?

It’s an amendment on a piece of paper that requires the RULE OF LAW to matter.  The RULE OF LAW no longer really matters as of January 20, 2025 for those who are powerful and rich enough in the US to BUY their way out of it.  The man is also a CONVICTED FELON who has done a SHIT TON of ILLEGAL things, and has gotten away with it.  He now has IMMUNITY for official acts.  Who the hell is going to stop him?  This level of naive DENIALISM is mindblowing when they are treating all of this as “business as usual”.  WAKE UP YOU FOOLS!

He also wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.  Yes, the US is no longer even trying to put up a facade that it is a serious country.  I mean this is beyond clown show stupid already.  Why not just cut to the chase and rename the Earth to Planet America, just rename the whole damn solar system to the American Solar System, and the universe The American Universe.

As for Elon Musk’s arm gesture… it was a Nazi salute plain and simple.  This is the gutter this country is headed down towards.

There are many of us who do not “subscribe” to one single political party either (we’re just independent).  Additionally, the system has long been bought by corporate interests (lobbyists).  Many well-intentioned politicians (party matters little) end up being “bought” because the money/perks end up being too good to ignore.

That the system of checks and balances failed to hold the criminal elements accountable over the past 4 years, is an indictment of the BS propaganda American’s have been fed.  Biden appointed the worst attorney general who failed to do his job.  How do you fix this broken system?  Sometimes you just need to let it fail; empire in decline is the right adage (anyone who doesn’t realize that or thinks otherwise, is in denial).  The US and its system of government is relatively young compared to other nations.  Many of those others countries have experienced massive changes in how they’ve been governed many times over (with their own internal conflicts).  A few countries that were previously empires, have had to experience that painful ride downwards.

Similarly, it is now the US turn (and that decline is being assisted by criminal elements who will dismantle it and sell it off for parts).  It’s also time to stop believing in the lies we as American’s have been brainwashed into believing since childhood because just look at the idiocracy that is now in place in Washington D.C.  That idiocracy is going to just accelerate the descent of the American empire much more quicker (while they pillage what they can from it at the expense of those who are not in the club of elites).

And the ones talking about the mid-terms or 4 years from now?  Really?  Wake up.  Seriously, there are now many more of us now after this election (including ones who used to preach the “every vote matters” line), that are tuning/tuned out because the party that was put in place in 2020, failed to make any difference with preventing this from happening.  The logical conclusion now is that this empire needs to fail like every other previous empire that failed, rebuilding into something that will try to learn from the past (realistically we know this is only temporary because that is another thing that keeps happening; failing to learn from history and reparting past mistakes).

UPDATE 2: Let’s see how quickly the US military leadership is dismantled/purged with this unqualified yes man being named SecDef.  Once a dictator wannabe gets loyalists into the military leadership, it becomes far easier to consolidate power and render every other remaining check/balance useless.  It’s not even a week, and I need more popcorn!
