Managed to get macOS Mojave Beta 3 (18A326g) installed on my Mac Pro after some “gymnastics” of getting High Sierra installed first on a spare internal hard drive. I initially used an external SSD but the logical volume would always disappear completely once Mojave was installed/rebooted; it would only show the greyed out BSD disk name in Disk Utility and not be repairable (happened two times in a row so this is a really nasty issue with this particular external SSD and whatever voodoo is happening with Mojave).
The first two betas resulted in the unsupported message during the beginning of the installation even though I had a Metal compliant GPU installed (I decided against bypassing the check via directly running startosinstall). With this latest build, the install over High Sierra took over an hour to complete (it encountered an error complaining about not being able to load a resource – restarting resumed the installation and this time, it completed without issues).

This NVIDIA GT 740 (entry level graphics circa 2014 – Kepler architecture) is one of the base, no frills GPU’s that offers Metal support (this one was flashed by MacVidCards so that it has an EFI boot screen on the Mac). By current day standards, it’s performance is nothing to write home about but compared to the original ATI Radeon 5770 it replaces, is still an improvement.
I only got this low end card for Mojave testing. Likewise, I don’t want to sink too much money into this system since I realize this version of the Mac OS is likely going to represent the end of the line for this form factor (and as I mentioned before, could possibly be my last Mac desktop should the 2019 modular Mac Pro end up being a form over function design with limited internal user upgradability).
This is still an early beta that is rough around the edges though so I am not attempting to try and live in it like I used to do with seeds prior to Lion. Dark Mode also needs some tweaking as it works well in some spots but not to great in others. But once this goes into the later stages of the beta, it will also represent for the first time since at least Tiger, where I planned to go from using it extensively in the beta to upgrading once it hit GM.
