LMAO… I could’ve come to this conclusion for these companies and Wall Street for absolutely FREE. But this is the “no shit Sherlock, tell me something that anyone who can do simple logic and math” piece of information that Nvidia’s VP of applied deep learning told Axios and I quote:
“For my team, the cost of compute is far beyond the costs of the employees”
Remember that his boss (company CEO Jensen Huang) is out publicly pumping up Nvidia’s AI push in this massive AI bubble which Wall Street is gladly playing along with (just like how this rigged stock market has long given up on actual reality with the global economy because it’s all a trading opportunity to generate gains out of thin air).
I’ve said it ad nauseum times before; the corporate executive suite has long been out of touch with reality and operate in their own bubble (and are assisted by the rigged Wall Street stock market). Most become a different level of stupid once their personal net wealth hits high 7-figures to 8-figures (and beyond) USD where their ability to relate to the average person, diminishes exponentially. This directly correlates with the Peter Principle but at a far worse level.
Welcome to corporate idiocracy along with a healthy dose of end stage capitalism. We could flip this whole thing on its head though if AI were allowed to replace corporate executives (because then the cost for AI compute would have a lot more breathing room given the average monthly salary and calculated benefits they receive.
I seriously wonder how they will spin all of this when the global energy shock hits their companies full force? For the individuals higher up, their compensation will shield them personally. But the average worker and the hit to their pocketbook that will end up rippling through the economy where a lot of discretionary spending will go out the window; this delusion the c-suite and Wall Street are operating under will have that unstable foundation collapsing. Would I like to be proven completely wrong on this? Of course.
As I’ve written before, the percentage of people not paying attention and willfully ignorant of what is about to happen (thanks again to Israel and the United States for starting this war with Iran and then refusing to negotiate in good faith) with energy, fuel, fertilizer, and supply chain costs/shortages turning into this domino effect, is a level of denialism that won’t go away quickly whenever shipping in the Middle East is allowed to resume in some “normal” fashion again (and even then, it will take time for those disruptions to work itself out).
But as I’ve also mentioned before, it often times takes most people experiencing rock bottom to wake up to reality.
