Apple Should Merch This…

Mac Finder Guy Rendering

This Mac Finder character is the definition of viral hit so long as it is not overdone. This modeled character came into existence with the new MacBook Neo online ads Apple has been running (I think primarily on TikTok since the Neo is aimed at certain demographics).

It’s of course derived from the Mac Finder icon (which has evolved in slight increments over the years).

While there are some folks who are already creating 3D printing schematics and renderings of the character performing different activities (like below), this is one of those rare times when something like this (if turned into official merchandise) can be its own marketing tool. IMHO, Apple should merchandise variations of it in some form.

Apple rarely did this with their other iconic glyphs (like they never turned Clarus the Dogcow into a plushie which IMHO, would have likely sold well). They did sell other branded merch (such as cups, mugs, shirts, caps, keyholders, etc) at the old “The Company Store” on the original Infinite Loop campus (that store location was closed in early 2024). There really isn’t the same equivalent at the new Apple Park campus (the Apple Park Visitor Center lacks the character this store had IMHO).

Realistically however, I know the bean counters won’t want to have the retail ops part having to deal with such souvenir type items that draws in the demographic of collectors that aren’t at an Apple Store to buy a high margin product (sorry for my cynicism).
