FCC fines Google for impeding privacy probe

Par for the course

Google impeded and delayed a U.S. inquiry into its data-collection practices,
according to the latest in a series of regulatory probes of the
company’s privacy practices.

The Federal Communications Commission said Google failed to cooperate with an investigation regarding how they gathered personal e-mails, text messages and other materials through its Street View location service.

As a result, the agency intends to levy the maximum fine for Google’s non-compliance with a probe.  The kicker is the maximum fine is $25,000.  That bank breaking fine will surely learn Google and any other large corporation from ignoring and messing around with the big bad FCC.
