Zuckerberg’s AI Glasses Live Demo Failures

Given my recent posting about this buffoon, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that I also have zero apologies for applauding/laughing at the failures encountered during his live demonstration of Meta’s newest AI “smart” glasses. I fully acknowledged a while ago that I’ve lost my empathy for these oligarch tech bros/gals that have chosen to be greedy pricks versus doing the world actual good. I don’t feel bad for them when they end up looking like fools/making fools of themselves as is the case with Zuckerberg.

No surprise, Meta’s CTO came out later with plausible reasons for the failed demo (that it wasn’t a WiFi failure but instead, DDoS’ing their own servers when many AI glasses in the hall became operational to the verbal commands during the cooking demo) and Zuckerberg not being able to answer a call (providing yet another plausible excuse that it was a rare bug which has since been fixed). The CTO also acknowledged the live demo failures was not their best moment all things considering (it was at Meta Connect 2025).

Such tech demonstration failures are nothing new. Apple and Microsoft encountered many of those during their live keynotes demos. Apple’s were always extremely stressful events that were practiced along with backup systems for critical demonstrations (Jobs expected perfection but even he would encounter those moments where even the backup would not cooperate).

But none of this even addresses how amateur level these AI smartglasses demos were to begin with or how the facial and body language really conveyed what Zuckerberg was actually thinking (exemplifying how folks like this who became suddenly rich, have never learned how to deal with the actual “in the moment/real-time” situations because they’ve long been sheltered by this facade of false pretenses). But he obviously couldn’t throw a hissyfit tantrum onstage and knew this would go viral or that his many detractors (self included) would make note of this.

To top it all off, just like how Metaverse video was terrible/amateur level garbage, these two demos didn’t even look professional considering how important these were for showcasing these latest smart glasses (no doubt, Zuckerberg fan boys/girls will say it makes this all the more human; I don’t buy any of that suck up excuse).

All I can say is this is a form of karma for soulless individuals like Zuckerberg; he has more than enough wealth to buy whatever positive PR propaganda that will at least make him/his inner circle of toadies/his fans feel better about this whole thing.
