I finally started the next phase of reducing the amount of Twitch streamers that I am actively following (per what I wrote about previously). Part of that also included unfollowing a lot of gaming streamers (many who haven’t streamed in years). I kept a few who were decently sized back in the day (where they got partnered under the older/more stringent system) since it serves as a good visual reminder to see how difficult it is for even those who got big, to do this for the long haul.
As it related to the primary objective, I unfollowed all the accounts that were more recent IRL raid follows as well as accounts that I originally thought would be interesting (but ended up being ones that I rarely/never watched after). The next set of unfollows are going to be more difficult since they are the ones that I did have a bit more interactions with when I first got into this but haven’t really for at least the past two months (some of it due to their streaming schedule).
My ultimate goal is to get it down to no more than 10 to see how much this will help reduce the couch potato aspect. If that doesn’t work out, then I will be looking at account deactivation to take a break from the whole thing (this has worked for me for my personal social media and gaming).
