Google Accounts Hit with Age Verification

Slowly but surely, Google is rolling out their AI-based age guestimation checks to more accounts in the U.S. Several of my accounts have received that notice about settings being changed because their system was unable to confirm if the owner of the account was an adult. So far, none of my main accounts have been affected (I look at that as more of a matter of when, not if though).

I haven’t checked all of these other old accounts either (of which I have quite a bit from the past). This does highlight how inaccurate this system is though. On the flip side, the fact that their system does not have an inkling that these accounts have a common owner, reveals how taking steps to prevent tracking/feeding contradictory data into the system has it merits (there is nothing more satisfying to knowing that their attempts at building these profiles, isn’t going well when one takes steps to throttle those attempts (which is why they are so keen on getting your government ID or biometric data).
