April 19, 2025 Protest

This one was initially a follow on to the 50501 protest back on March 4th but is now sort of piggybacking off the April 5th protest, and is taking place a day before the April 20th deadline that was spelled out in one of the convicted felon’s first executive orders.  Part of that is in regards to recommendations regarding the situation at the southern border where cabinet heads are supposed to come up with a recommendation within the first 90 days.

Some folks have been gaming out the possibility of the Insurrection Act being declared as a prelude to martial law.  With some of the recent Supreme Court rulings going the regimes way (5-4 in favor with Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett trading off on rulings in what one can only see as trying to make it seem like they still have some belief that the Constitution and rule of law matters anymore), it is becoming clearer that court rulings that go against the regime, will be appealed all the way up to SCOTUS where the conservative majority will stay orders/outright rule for the regime.

Which means the lower courts are being neutered by the high court.  In simpler english, the guardrails are pretty much gone via the judiciary and all the regime now needs to do is capture the military.  We already know about the mini purge that happened with the top level JAG officers and JCS, as well as the recent firing of the NSA director.  The U.S. military itself does not act on its own.  By design, it only acts when given orders from the chain of command.   As a protocol driven branch, this unfortunately means they will not act to remove this corrupt chain of command.

I know, it is asinine in terms of the military oath (defending the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic), but this is the reality because our entire system was always predicated on people doing the honorable and right thing.  Much of that has been co-opted and captured: the SCOTUS conservatives, the Republican majority in Congress, the entirety of the executive branch.  Every check and balance has been eliminated.  We’re now just waiting for the equivalent of the Reichstag fire that will allow this regime to fully consolidate power and curtail civil liberties and rights.

This all means that these protests become very important now in terms of getting to that 3.5% number (or around 11+ million) of protestors.  We had slightly under 50% of that on April 5th.  We’re also going to need a more sustained movement of daily protests that can lead into an organized general strike.  Lot of this is going to be challenging given the tariffs (and the global damage that it will do).  Plus there are still millions that are tuned out (where if you try to explain any of this to them, they will think you are the one who is crazy).  We’re living in one of the dumbest possible timelines now and for the foreseeable future (I don’t see this being resolved in my lifetime).
