Apple announced Mac OS X 10.8 (code name Mountain Lion) Developer Preview today. The new operating system will go on sale this summer (meaning we have around 6 months of serious testing and bug smashing to do).
The take away is more crossover from iOS as far as apps and features go so anyone familiar with an iOS device will feel even more at home on a Mac running 10.8.
Update: Apple has officially dropped the “Mac” from the branding with 10.8. The preferred (marketing) name for this operating system release is OS X Mountain Lion. It’s going to take awhile for me to stop calling it Mac OS X.
